Press release to announce the August 21, 2016 event-

Magpie and Ukuleles in Hancock

The Big Cove Creek Alliance is staging a concert Sunday August 21 at 6:30 pm at the PAC at Hancock Town Hall located at 126 W High St. Hancock, MD. This concert will feature Magpie a well-known Washington area folk duo praised for their beautiful playing and singing of traditional and vintage American music since 1973. They will be joined by Tri State Ukeclectic Orchestra, an area ukulele band established in 2015.

This concert is to benefit Big Cove Creek Alliance, a local environmental group working to protect the land, air and water quality of our beautiful area and promote healthy and sustainable farming practices. The current issue is a proposed CAFO (Confined Animal Feeding Operation) or factory farm to be located just above Big Cove Creek in Fulton County PA. This pristine creek feeds into Licking Creek, the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay.

Admission to this event is free but any donations will help support the Big Cove Creek Alliance.
